An alumni of Sainik School Rewa and National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla; he has served with the Indian Army for 39 years.
He is also a graduate of DSSC Wellington and has attended prestigious CDM and NDC courses. He has had the rare distinction of commanding two prestigious institutions of the Indian Army – The College of Defence Management, and The Army War College. His qualifications include MMS and PhD degree from Osmania University, MSc and M Phil from Madras University.
